Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre collaboration that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the official release, "A mysterious confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous transformations reverberate through the shadows." The storyline presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine cult.
The adventure centers on "peculiar trials and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer finishes with a striking sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Bonus Content
Players who finish the quest will acquire an exclusive katana alongside several artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
